Peter Obi's Mission The Mission Of Sisyphus

This is indeed a great revelation. That history repeats itself is confirmable. When this revelation came, only one word kept coming that I became utterly disturbed. The word was "Sisyphus" - "the mission of Sisyphus". And I thought about Sisyphus and attempted to reconcile his historic punishment with Peter Obi's self-destructive ventures, I became amazed at the wondrous nature of existence. I became completely assured that there is

permanence in being. That the earth contrary to popular teachings will not be annihilated. I was agreed with Ibn Rushid a great Islamic philosopher that the Earth is eternal and that man will escape annihilation even in the face of all predicted cataclysms and armageddon. On that day, our bodies shall be transformed as that of Jesus of Nazareth on the day of his resurrection. Like the body of Jesus the Christ, the bodies of just men shall become both physical and spiritualized. Having said this, with the attendant important digression, ours, majorly, is to lay bare the repetition of history which borders on the reoccurrence of King Sisyphus kind of punishment which today is undoubtedly manifest in the sisyphusian mission of the former governor of Anambra State who as Sisyphus is facing a punishment that will perhaps last all the days of his earthly existence.

Who and what is Sisyphus? Sisyphus was the founder and the first King of Ephyra now known as Corithn. Sisyphus the son of Aeolus and ruler of Corith was the most notorious trickster in all the world; the most cunning knave on earth. He was regarded as the cunning King of Corith who was punished for his self-aggrandizing craftiness and deceitfulness by being forced to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down, repeating this action for eternity. The maddening nature of the punishment was reserved for King Sisyphus due to his hubristic belief that his cleverness surpassed that of Zeus himself. Because of the atrocities of Sisyphus as reported in Greek Mythology, Zeus sent Thanatos, the god of death, to chain Sisyphus down in Tartarus. Sisyphus deceitfully escaped being chained rather chained Thanatos, of which chaining caused great pain in all the world. Sisyphus was therefore cursed by the Gods. It was reported in Greek Mythology that Zeus enchanted the rock or boulder such that when Sisyphus rolls the rock to the summit of the cliff, it inexorably begins to roll back making Sisyphus to start all over again even doing this unto eternity.

From who is Sisyphus what is sisyphus is easily decipherable and discernible. Sisyphus is a purposeless mission even a mission impossible of which no meaningful accomplishment is actualisable. It is equally a terrible condition of which one is condemned to be skirting around without meaningful development or progress. According to Ist Century BC Epicurean philosopher, the myth of sisyphus as personifying politicians aspiring for political office who are constantly defeated, with the quest for power in itself an "empty thing," being likened to rolling the boulder up the hill. And one begins to wonder what is the place of  Peter Obi in Sisyphus and why is Peter Obi's mission the mission of sisyphus?

Peter Obi like Sisyphus is a cunning personality who thinks of himself as possessing vast knowledge and has all the deceitful skills of getting whatever he wants. Like Sisyphus, himself was more important than any other thing even when he has been entrusted with public responsibility. Peter Obi has carried on in this attitude and prospered like Sisyphus who also prospered in sea navigation and commerce. But the evil of Sisyphus got to a crescendo when he thought that his cleverness was more than that of Zeus. Peter's sins hail from his sins against the very institution that molded him even against APGA. The hubris of the corridors  of power invaded him. I have in the time past listed the sins of Peter Obi against APGA. Peter Obi while in APGA worked in toto against the values and philosophy of the party. Peter while in APGA sought to destroy APGA despite her being the vehicle via which he was brought to power and prominence. Peter Obi was ignorant of the forces that was evoked as a result of the conditions of his denial of his mandate. Peter Obi was also ignorant of the forces that were evoked as a result of the association of his party with the Igbo political survival. In Peter's working against the party while in the party, Peter evoked universic forces of which Peter cannot cunningly control.

To the ignorance of many, Peter's punishment commenced while he was still in office. Just as Sisyphus who was forced to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down, repeating this action in eternity, the universe decided that Peter's punishment shall be the eternal pursuit of Chief Victor Umeh without success all his days in this earthly existence; for it is only in the pursuit of the other (Chief Victor Umeh) shall the other (Chief Victor Umeh) rise to the peak even far above the pursuer. In pursuing Chief Umeh he has on several occasions taking him to the Court of the land and three times Peter Obi even so purchased judgements of the trial courts, lost in Courts of Appeal and Supreme Court. In one of his radio programs, Chief Umeh detailed what has just been said: "Peter Obi is the leader of PDP in the state.  He is the person influencing all these things. Few weeks ago, from behind, without any primary election,  he smuggled his name to INEC as the candidate of PDP in Anambra Central Senatorial District rerun election . INEC rejected his name and he went back and purchased judgement from Justice Anuli Chikere of Federal High Court Abuja.  He was the person who purchased the judgement.  He has antecedent of purchasing judgement.  He has been doing that. In 2012, he purchased a judgement to remove me as National Chairman of APGA from a compromised Chief Judge of Enugu state,  Justice Innocent Umezulike.  We told the judge in court that you have no business with this matter. He went as somebody who want to commit suicide, held unto his ground and sacked me and my executive. I went to Court of Appeal and got the judgement nullified. Peter Obi also brought in Maxi Okwu fraudulently to become National Chairman of APGA and used a High Court judgment in Awka to confirm him as the National chairman of APGA. I went through Court of Appeal and nullified the judgement. Maxi Okwu now proceeded to Supreme Court. On January 15th this year, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal. In 2014, again, the same Obi went and purchased judgement from justice Abdul Kafarati  of Federal High Court Abuja and sacked me again as National Chairman. I went through Court of Appeal and got it set aside on June 18 last year. They proceeded to Supreme Court. This year, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal. So this is the fourth time he is purchasing a fraudulent High Court judgement against me". Thus, just as Sisyphus who rolls the rock to the cliff of the mountain and the rock begins to roll back making him to start all over again,  Peter Obi always purchases the judgement of a trial Court but loses at Appeal and Supreme Court in any case between him and Chief Umeh. And for the fourth time Peter Obi has purchased another High court judgement and as Sisyphus will lose at Appeal and peradventure, Supreme Court, knowing full well the decision of the Supreme Court on this subject matter in 2009.

It is now clear to us what is the remote and ultimate cause of the former governor's puerile efforts to bring Chief Umeh down for he had recently carried on these days like a drunken master, hence, the question in the lips of many: what is wrong with Chief Peter Obi. They do not understand that the import of this common adage is being fulfilled "he who the spirits want to kill they first make mad". That what Peter is doing is not within his control because what is responsible is not what can be seen even though today made explicable by this piece. That Peter's purported Senatorial mission is a purposeless mission even a mission impossible of which no meaningful accomplishment is actualisable.  Peter's efforts to bring Chief Umeh down is a terrible condition of which Peter is condemned to be skirting around without meaningful progress till his exit from the face of the earth; for Peter like Sisyphus personifies politicians aspiring for political office who are constantly defeated, with the quest for power in itself an "empty thing," being likened to rolling the boulder up the hill. In the end, it follows from the foregoing that my equation of Peter Obi to Sisyphus is a binding reality.
