A newlywed couple has set off on an eight- month-long
honeymoon after quitting their jobs and selling their home to fund the ultimate
getaway. Adam and Jodie Dobb, from Newark, Nottinghamshire, married in June
2015, and,
finding themselves consumed by wanderlust, they decided to hand in
their notice and sell their semi-detached house to jet off on an incredible
travel adventure – which they estimate has so far cost them £25,000.
To date they have stayed in 44 different accommodations
including hotels, guest houses, hostels, caravans and tents.
They have trekked, swum, toured museums, galleries, parks
and visited iconic monuments.
They have enjoyed incredible experiences including
horseriding at sunset in Argentina, exploring the world-famous Bolivian salt
flats at Salar de Uyuni and enjoying a visit to the Christ the Redeemer statue
in Rio.
28-year-old Jodie, who quit her role as a CAD technician at
a Birmingham contractors company to travel with husband Adam – who left his job
working as senior architectural technician at a Birmingham consultancy firm –
said: ‘It’s amazing sharing this experience with one another, plus it’s opened
our eyes to future opportunities. Adam and I have always talked about
travelling.
‘Our first ever conversation during a work night out was
about travelling through Europe, which is something we still hope to do.
‘Due to Adam studying architecture part-time we’ve not had
an opportunity to go travelling for any period of time until last year so we took
the chance for our honeymoon.’
