Man allegedly kills lover in hotel

A 31-year-old man, Ekanem Ikot, has allegedly killed his lover, one Edith Owei, in a hotel room in Minna, Niger state for allegedly infecting him with

gonorrhea.

From source, the 27-year-old victim, an indigene of Owa Alero, Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State and the suspect, were in a relationship that was almost six months old before the incident occurred on March 7.

It was gathered that the deceased, a graduate from the department of Chemistry, Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma had lied to her parents that she was going to collect her NYSC call-up letter from the institution after the suspect, who hails from Akwa Ibom allegedly lured her to Minna.

Ikot was said to have fled the hotel room, leaving the victim lifeless on the ground, Her body was reportedly discovered by workers in the unnamed hotel.

A police source, while confirming the incident, said the police had reportedly begun investigations into the incident.
